This position reports directly to the Senior Assistant Director level position. This position is directly responsible for assisting the admission team with enrollment initiatives for full-time undergraduate students. This role's focus includes (but are not limited to) the following: working directly with work study/student worker population, event preparation/management, assisting with campus tours, assisting with admission visits and assisting with front desk administrative operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in management of student workers within the office of admission

    • Oversee daily tasks and responsibilities of student ambassadors, tour guides, and office assistants.

    • Plan end-of-the-semester parties

  • Recruitment and Training
    • Assist in hiring, interviewing, and onboarding new student workers.
    • Develop and lead training sessions for new ambassadors for tour training, call shifts and event help.
    • Update and maintain training manuals and handbooks.
  • Event Coordination and Support
    • Coordinate student worker assignments during open houses, campus tours, and special events.
    • Ensure student workers are prepared and professional during public-facing responsibilities.
  • Administrative Support
    • Assist with data entry, filing, and communications related to student worker schedules and payroll.
    • Track hours and ensure accurate submission of timesheets.
    • Assist with front desk administrative duties as needed.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Liaise between student workers and full-time admissions staff to ensure smooth workflow and communication.
    • Attend regular admissions staff meetings and represent student worker updates and needs.

The Career Center for Development and Internships (CCDI) and Office of Academic Success (OAS) welcomes applicants for the position of graduate assistant for the 2025-2026 academic year. This individual will be responsible for performing up to 20 hours of service per week during the fall and spring semesters.

CCDI Responsibilities

The GA will help to fill the coverage and availability needs of professional staff at the Center for Career Development and Internships. They will assist in providing information on career services available to walk-in students, inform and assist students regarding registering for academic internships, assist the internship coordinator in tracking internship hours and paperwork via LIVE, and assist the career director with research and technology related to the Handshake career system software.

The GA will also help in offering workshops, pop-ups, and outreach activities for the career and internship programs.

OAS Responsibilities

In the Office of Academic Success, the GA鈥檚 responsibilities will be to guide students to develop their own learning strategies in individual sessions and manage weekly study lab hours for the EDGE program.

The position also involves developing social media pages and resources throughout the fall and spring semesters. The GA will help promote the OAS office, develop and present workshops, keep records, and make referrals to other campus resources.

Etruscan Press

Online, 3 credits. Student will be responsible for performing 9 hours of service per week for the semester. Duties will include, but are not limited to, editing, copy work, and grant writing.

Student will gain valuable knowledge regarding the day-to-day workings of a small press, including editing, copy work, and grant writing.

Etruscan Press

Online, 3 credits. Student will be responsible for 9 hours of service per week and will train to be an assistant editor for Etruscan Press. Student will provide any additional office and project support as needed.

Student will gain a working knowledge of the duties of an assistant editor of a small press.

Blue Moon / HaveScripts

Online. 3 credits. Student will be responsible for performing 9 hours of service each week. Duties will include, but are not limited to, acting as an editorial assistant to Jean Klein at Blue Moon Plays, a company that produces approximately ten new scripts per year.

Student will gain knowledge of the workings of a playwriting production company including the editing and production of new plays.

Office Assistant

Hybrid, 3 credits: in-person and online (preference for a student who lives in the NEPA area). Student will be responsible for performing 9 hours of service per week, assisting the director and administrative assistant with a variety of tasks, including but not limited to assisting with social-media marketing, office reorganization, representing the program at local conferences, recruitment assistance, assisting during the residency, and directly assisting the office staff in other development projects.

Student will gain knowledge regarding the operations of a low-residency creative writing program.

Community Outreach Coordinator

Online. 2 credits. Student will serve as a resource for our students as they address one of the requirements of the MFA Program, which is to 鈥渦se your writing talents to give back to your community鈥; and plan, organize, and execute community-building activities during the semester and at the residencies. 

Publication Editor

Online. 3 credits. Student will be responsible for performing 9 hours of service per week collecting, drafting, and editing news stories for the program's newsletter, Revise This! Student will also be responsible for inviting and coordinating guest bloggers on the Creative Writing blog, The Write Life.

Managing Editor, River & South Review

Online. 3 credits. Student will be responsible for performing 9 hours of service per week. Duties will include, but are not limited to: overseeing editorial team, managing the editorial and production calendar to ensure timely release of issues, individual meetings with genre editors to determine which pieces will be selected to be discussed by full team, managing the submission process in Submittable, planning/creating/posting social media content, and bringing strategic ideas to editorial team for consideration.

Student will gain knowledge of managing the creative and production logistics of an online literary journal.

Hippocampus Magazine

Online. 3 credits. Student will be responsible for performing 9 hours of service per week. Duties will include, but are not limited to, reading submissions and developing content to promote magazine issues, books, or press-sponsored events.

Student will gain knowledge of publishing and promoting a literary magazine and become familiar with small press practices.

Kinsman Quarterly Press

Online. 3 credits. Student will be responsible for performing 9 hours of service per week within 1 of 5 production departments: Editing, Journalism, Book Production & Design, Social Marketing, or Fundraising.

Students will learn industry-related skills in collaboration with a dynamic team, while empowering underrepresented voices from around the globe.

  • The GA will continue to develop and supervise the peer mentoring program; organize looser but tangible peer mentoring opportunities; track sign ups and information for Honors Program activities, and ensure participation points for field trips are given for on-campus events and academic opportunities.
  • They will manage social media presence and liaise with Marketing and Communications to ensure Honors student activities and achievements are shared, monitor and maintain presence on the Honors Buzz, Honors Instagram, Twitter, and FB accounts.
  • The GA will also track and enter responses for admissions; monitor Slate; enter faculty responses on spreadsheets; send mailed decision letters to applicants; and follow up on missing application pieces with applicants.
  • The GA will develop and supervise Alum connections to Honors Program, develop opportunities for structuring Honors alums鈥 invested participation in program; will primarily direct alum leadership and programming and liaise between alum (representing their interests), students, and program administration.
  • The GA is also an ex officio member of Honors Program Advisory Council (HPAC) who attends Honors Program Advisory Meetings.

Graduate Assistant, Admissions Marketing

Marketing Communications seeks a graduate assistant who will support the student recruitment process by collaborating on marketing projects that support admissions communications. This role incorporates a variety of responsibilities that will prepare the successful candidate to succeed in future positions in sales, marketing, communications, admissions/recruitment, public relations or client relations.

The graduate assistant will:

  • Work closely with the associate director of strategic marketing on the development of marketing strategies and tactics, including email campaigns, text messaging campaigns, social media posts and live events on a variety of platforms to reach prospective students and families
  • Gain hands-on experience in using CRM systems, content management systems, project management systems and other marketing technologies
  • Develop relationships with campus stakeholders and vendors
  • Work with the associate director of strategic marketing in the planning and execution of marketing strategies
  • Conduct student interviews, focus groups and other research to ensure marketing messaging aligns with audience preferences, needs and best practices

Other administrative and office-related tasks may be assigned.

Graduate Assistant, Writing & Editing

Marketing Communications seeks a graduate assistant to support the department through research, writing and editing projects used across a variety of media. This role incorporates a variety of responsibilities that will prepare the successful candidate to succeed in future positions in writing, editing, marketing, public relations or communications.

The graduate assistant will:

  • Conduct interviews and related research for articles, marketing copy, and other content
  • Write and edit copy to suit the needs of a variety of target audiences
  • Assist in the creation of marketing materials and assets, including print pieces, posters, press releases, articles, social media posts, scripts, etc.
  • Develop their skills in editorial judgement, as well as the practical application of editorial style guides and editing standards, including Associated Press style
  • Use project management systems, content management systems, and other software to support the creation and distribution of content across 麻豆视频APK media properties

Other administrative and office-related tasks may be assigned.

This position requires 15-20 hours per week of service.

The successful candidate must possess exceptional writing and editing skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to effectively multi-task and strong organizational and time management skills. Previous experience with writing in Associated Press style is a plus, but not required.

Graduate Assistant, Events & Engagement

The events and engagement team seeks a graduate assistant to provide event coordination and support. This role incorporates a variety of responsibilities that will prepare the successful candidate to succeed in future positions in event planning and management in non-profit or corporate settings.

The graduate assistant will:

  • Develop their skills in event planning and execution, as well as associated marketing and logistics tasks
  • Collaborate with campus stakeholders and fulfillment teams
  • Gain experience in managing campus event-related systems including online event calendars
  • Assist the team in completing work orders, event briefs and other related forms
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for student and spirit-related campus events (e.g. Colonel Kickoff)

Other administrative and office-related tasks may be assigned.

The successful candidate must possess excellent communication and customer service skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to effectively multi-task and strong organizational and time management skills. Additionally, this role requires creative problem-solving skills and a team-oriented approach.

The mission of the Office Diversity Initiatives (ODI) is to educate, mentor and coordinate educational, cultural, and social programs to enhance the student experience in creating a well-versed student. ODI helps students broaden their perspective in promoting intercultural dialogue, awareness, civic engagement, and value diversity, equity, and inclusion.

This is done through collaboration with academic programming, training, conferences, mentoring and support from faculty, staff, and campus community. Serve and provide support for students with disabilities, veteran鈥檚 status, gender/sexuality, and historically marginalized communities and all students.

Responsibilities

  • Support all programs provided by the Office of Diversity Initiatives (e.g. Open House, accepted student day & graduation, trainings, and Diversity Student Leadership conference at 麻豆视频APK)
  • Assist with diversity, equity and inclusion planning events on campus and off campus
  • Serve in an assistant advising role with several 麻豆视频APK University student clubs including the Multicultural Student Coalition (MSC), the Black Student Union (BSU), the 麻豆视频APK African Cultural Association (WACA), the Student Organization of Latinos (SOL), and the 麻豆视频APK step team  
  • Supervise/Chaperone cultural, social events and off-campus conferences
  • Assist with the successful implementation of the RISE & Metamorphosis mentoring program. These programs are designed to help retain our underrepresented students. They also focus on creating a sense of belonging and providing students with skills and tools to ensure their collegiate success.

Requirements

Graduate assistantships are opportunities for matriculated students in a 麻豆视频APK graduate program. All areas of study are eligible. Assistantships typically last from 12 to 18 months. Hours required per week are 25 hours. Evening and weekend work will be required. The position offers up to a possible, but no more than 24 credits per year. 

Location

The Graduate Assistant position will have an office space located in the Hub in the Max Roth Center.

Compensation

  • $3000 stipend per semester
  • Graduate tuition (9-12 credits) per semester, amount granted for tuition will be dependent upon credits taken

The Office of Technology for Teaching and Learning is seeking a graduate assistant to help support the daily activities of the department. The selected Graduate Assistant would participate as an OTTL team member working alongside instructional designers to support faculty in their use of technology for teaching, assist in the course development process, and participate in the planning, support and delivery of training and professional development opportunities for faculty.

The role would be customized to the degree program in which the student is enrolled as well as his/her individual needs and that of the department. While the ideal candidate will be able to be on campus at least part of the time during business hours, the position can be modified for distance participation. This is a great opportunity for a teacher during the summer semester.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with staff to complete daily support tickets
  • Assist faculty in solving educational technology problems
  • Assist in and support the design and development of online courses
  • Identify and implement a special project that supports the strategic plan of the department as well as meets the needs of the student鈥檚 program outcomes

The 麻豆视频APK University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) invites individuals to apply for a Graduate Assistant position with our office. SBDC graduate assistants work alongside full-time SBDC business consultants in assisting aspiring entrepreneurs and existing small business owners in our 5 county territory.

Graduate assistants will participate in client meetings, prepare industry, competitor and demographic research, edit business plans, prepare digital marketing assessments and develop financial projections. The position of Writing Center Graduate Assistant is designed to provide administrative support to the Writing Center Director, to the Writing Center鈥檚 Peer Consultants, and for faculty working in close relation with the Writing Center. The Graduate Assistant鈥檚 areas of responsibility and duties involve internal work (i.e., duties in regards to the Writing Center鈥檚 internal operations), and external work (i.e., duties pertaining to the Writing Center鈥檚 relations and cooperation with faculty and staff across the 麻豆视频APK University campus).  Experience with ELL instruction is especially desirable.

This position will serve as a professional and educational development experience for graduate students. To meet this expectation, the position of Writing Center Graduate Assistant will offer practical experience to those students pursuing continuing graduate studies or careers in the areas of: English literary studies; Creative Writing; professional writing and writing consultation; Education; Rhetoric and Composition studies; Communications; and continuing graduate studies or professional work in any field in which writing is of key significance.

Oversight and Performance Evaluation

The Writing Center Graduate Assistant is hired, supervised, mentored, evaluated, and rehired by the Writing Center Director, in cooperation with the English Program Chairperson, and other relevant administrative constituencies at 麻豆视频APK University.

Performance evaluations are to be conducted by the Writing Center Director at the end of each academic semester (mid-contract and end-of-contract).

Responsibilities

  • Reading the most recent 麻豆视频APK University Writing Center Training Manual and discussing the Writing Center鈥檚 pedagogical philosophy, work procedures, and professional ethics with the Writing Center Director prior to the beginning of the fall semester
  • Assisting the Writing Center Director in the supervision and mentoring of undergraduate Writing Center Peer Consultants鈥攚hile maintaining that the Writing Center Director be responsible for decisions regarding hiring, work policies and pedagogical practices, and termination of student employment
  • Providing academic support for the undergraduate and graduate student clients of the Writing Center through in-person consultations, synchronous meetings, and asynchronous written feedback (in the Online Writing Center)
  • Assisting the Writing Center Director in the development of campus-wide in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous workshops on writing-related topics
  • Leading campus-wide in-person and synchronous workshops on writing-related topics independently and in collaboration with the Writing Center Director and/or Writing Center Peer Consultants
  • Assisting the Writing Center Director in faculty relations efforts (such as scheduling in-class visits to courses taught across the curriculum)
  • Assisting the Writing Center Director in campus communications via messaging on Today@麻豆视频APK, Instagram, and paper flyers
  • Assisting the Writing Center Director in collecting Writing Center data and compiling administrative reports
  • Working in collaboration with the Writing Center Director, Peer Consultants, and 麻豆视频APK University faculty in scholarly projects relating to Writing Center operations (including possible attendance and presentation at local, regional, national, and international scholarly conferences)

Compensation

  • $11,000 total tuition remission + $4,000 stipend ($15,000 in total compensation)
